Greeting Fellow Comrades,

On October 5th 2011 9pm EST, The time will be upon us once again to fight in the glory of the Motherland in a Humpday Challenge. This will involve our old friend “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″.

The Challenge will be open to all of the following:

- Ironworks Gaming Crew Members
- Ironworks Gaming Crew Applicants
- Friends of Ironworks Gaming Crew
- Fellow Good Game Network Clan Members

The MW2 Challenge will work like this…

- We will take the first 30 players to sign up
- These players then will be randomly split into 3 different 10 man FFA matches
- The 1st place players of these games will then compete in a “Winner Take All” FFA match up

- Match Rules will be as follows -
- 20 minutes matches with a 3000 score limit (which ever comes first)
- No Killstreaks
- No Noob Tubes
- No Riot Shields
- No Launchers (keep it clean)
- No Radar, so adjust your tactics accordingly
- No Kill Cams
- Regular Health and Respawn Times
- Maps will be Small/Medium sized (maps will be chosen on the day of the match)
- There will be 3 match refs who will spectate these matches, and 1 to ref the final match between all the 1st place winners (if you would like to ref, please PM me)

Perks:
- No one man army/pro
- No danger close/pro
- No commando/pro
- No sitrep/pro
- No last stand/pro

Every other perk is fair game, so adjust your classes.

So now that the match rules mumbo jumbo is out of the way, what’s the damn prize already you ask???

For the second time, the Ironworks Gaming Crew will be hosting a XBox Live Community Playdate. This time, it will be Friday March 11th 2011 from 8PM to 11PM Eastern Time. You’ll be able to meet and greet many of the Ironworks Gaming Crew members as well as take part in some great Black Ops action. We look forward to having a great time with the members of the XBox Live community.

That’s right, the Good Gaming Network (GGN) and Tied the Leader are putting on a Modern Warfare 2 tournament, and IGC Alpha Squad has answered the call.  The rules are fairly simple…Hardcore settings, Double Elimination; prepare for Search and Destroy!  First round starts this week, with our first squad, IGC Alpha, taking on All the Kings Men, while our second squad, IGC Red Mother, looks to defeat the behemoth of OCR Ruin.

9/4/10 Update

Red Mother is out of the tournament, but Alpha is keeping our hopes alive.  They’re doing a great job, and are among the final few teams remaining.  We’re proud of you guys!

They were in the final four of the winner’s bracket last week, before falling in a difficult match against Team SLAP.  Right now, they’re currently working they’re way out of the loser’s bracket in hopes of getting a shot at the championship.  Stay tuned for further updates.

The rules are simple…

1. Register by submitting your GamerTag via the button below
2. Play in any RANKED Play List
3. Aim and throw!
4. Player to accumulate the most Grenade Stick! medals during the month of October wins.

THE GAME:
This years tournament takes place on Saturday October 31st and on Sunday November 1st. There will be two Halo3 gametypes played: Zombies and “Halloween”. (aka Michael Myers)

Zombies: Last man standing will be the 1st place winner and receive the grand prize, there will be second and third place prizes as well.

Halloween:Last man found will win the grand prize. (this is like a “hide and seek” game) Prizes will be the traditional Trick-or-Treat bag filled with goodies and Swag. We will be more specific soon, but there are some SWEET things coming our way!

Registration will be up soon and the donation minimum to participate will be 5$ per gamer, and 5$ per gametype. (If you choose to play both then your donations would be $10 minimum)


THE CAUSE:
This year we are playing for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Spencer Boyer. Every dollar raised will go directly to the Be the Match Foundation, which is a registry for Bone Marrow donors and gives a second chance at life for patients with Leukemia.

Each year in the United States about 30,000 new cases of leukemia are diagnosed. It accounts for about one-third of all cancers in children younger than 15. Leukemia causes an estimated 22,000 deaths each year. It is the sixth leading cause of cancer deaths among men and the seventh leading cause of cancer deaths among women.

You can help fight this disease by participating in HALOween and also by registering to the Be The Match Foundation and either donate marrow or donate money to help patients who are donating. Leukemia can be beat!
