New feature just announced for Modern Warfare 2

Bungie ushered in a whole new game play element for the Halo franchise with Dual Wielding in Halo 2; now, Infinity Ward is looking to do the same with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  Robert Bowling, of Infinity Ward, confirmed this today via a Twitter post:

Just walked off stage. Crowd was amazing, went insane chanting “pick it up!” when I stumbled over Dual-wield Deagles. lol – Akimbo confirmed

Will this be a huge change to the game?   Or will it simply be added candy to what promises to be a stellar experience?

Got to say I’m a tad upset with this. I know a couple military people and they have yet to dual-wield pistols during a live firefight. To stay real, they should keep to one gun at a time.

This will be a cool change, but also a huge advantage to pistols. I agree with StokedRock though. Also raises the question of ‘can you dual wield on Last Stand?’, and ‘Can you carry two pistols, even after you switch back to the primary weapon?’. this will have a significant advantage to close quarters combat…. Also I’m pretty sure most of your average Military would be able to shoot a DEagle one-handed anyway,.. too much recoil.
